About the Book

How does someone you love disappear without a trace? Dr. Jenny Tallchief, a Veterinarian in a small rural clinic suddenly faces desperation, frustration and despair when her sister, Emma, vanishes.

Even being married to the Undersheriff of the county, locating Emma seems impossible when evidence is non-existent.

Personal trauma has set the stage for Jenny to find clues to the missing Emma by staying in touch with animals who are her patients.

Murder, intrigue and action set in the woods of Southeastern Oklahoma keep the reader turning pages to the very end.

Excerpt From the Book

Jenny gently placed her hands on the spaniel.  Instantly, as if she had received an electric shock, the image of a small, blonde girl, about three or four years old, flashed across her mind. Jenny jumped back a half-step.

The injured dog lifted his head so that his eyes met Jenny’s as if to say, “this is an important thing for you to know…. do something…. help us.”

“What’s wrong…Jenny?” Caleb asked.

“Nothing….I… uh…nothing.”

Jenny touched the brown fur once more.  Again, the picture flashed in her mind, but this time she could see the child was hurt and crying.  Jenny kept her hands in place and the scene expanded, showing the side of a deep ravine with the little girl caught on a slight outcropping about ten feet below the crest.  Below her was a drop of more than 100 feet into a small stream at the foot of the cliff face.  Somehow, Jenny knew this place was close.  But where was it?

Jenny turned her head to meet the deep brown eyes of her patient.  Instinctively, she knew the dog had been with the little girl, that somehow the child had fallen, and that the dog had been hit by Caleb’s SUV while going for help.
